Perception paper

In these two stories you see the two ladies being generalized. Christa Kilvington being generalized for being on government well charge. I can perceive any reason why individuals would utilize that generalization on her. A great deal of the individuals see utilizing the well admission framework are killjoys in a manner of speaking, individuals that are excessively apathetic or on medications to go get a better than average occupation. With Carol Paik she continues getting the Asian generalization where individuals think she looks like different Asians. I additionally can see how individuals can commit this error; I figure each and every one of us will concede that every single Asian individuals look sort of comparable and that we’ve each committed a similar error as the individuals in this story are making with Carol. I for one have committed this error, even tune made it and she used to grumble about individuals doing likewise to her.The central point that influence the deter mination of data by the individuals who see Christa are that she is on the government assistance framework and that she’s a 4.0 understudy. The individuals at supermarkets or the government assistance office consider her to be a sluggish individual who wont go find a new line of work and bring in her own cash. Her schoolmates consider her to be the persevering committed 4.0 understudy. The two are altogether different in the wake of perusing the story I see Christa more on persevering and committed. The central point influencing Carol is her race. The way that she’s Asian is the main motivation individuals see her as somebody else. The individuals who meet Christa compose the data they are surrendered to two distinct gatherings. Individuals out in the open consider her to be the single parent that is on government assistance, from that they expect that she is a useless, languid lady who is drifting on government reserves. Individuals who meet Christa around school consi der her to be the extraordinary understudy. It is fascinating to perceive what her schoolmates would state on the off chance that they thought about her being on government assistance and if individuals out in the open realized that she is a 4.0 understudy. Individuals who meet Carol sort out her into one class. Individuals who meet ditty mistake her for other ladies in light of the fact that the general generalization is that all Asians look alike. The social perspectives are enormous in propositions two stories. For the most part in our, or American culture, we don’t for the most part observe 4.0 understudies on government assistance, we’re just not used to seeing that mix of qualities from someone. We additionally find in our way of life that we stir up Asian individuals with one another. I don’t accept it’s in light of the fact that we are supremacist I think it’s that we are not raised around a great deal of Asians typically so its sort of diff icult for us to recognize them sometimes. To limit the discernment issues individuals could utilize recognition checking. â€Å"Perception checking is a device for helping you comprehend others precisely as opposed to accepting that your first translation is right. Since its objective is common comprehension, observation checking is a helpful way to deal with correspondence (Alder/Proctor II, 105).† Perception checking has three sections, depiction, translations, and a solicitation of explanation. In this circumstance a solicitation for explanation would assist both these ladies enormously.

One thing he stresses is that you need to write down your objectives. Start big. What do you want to achieve with your blog? How will you achieve it? Then, go back and dig into your plan for each smaller task.Let’s take an example. If your goal is to reach 10,000 subscribers by the end of the year, you might utilize influencer marketing to get there. But don’t just leave it at that. Write down which influencers you will attempt to connect with, and then consider how you will get each of them to share your content. For instance, the first step of your plan may be to connect with them via social media, their newsletters, and by leaving a comment on their blogs once a week for two months before approaching them about your content. However, your later strategies may become more targeted as you consider which contact methods each influencer best responds to.It sounds like a lot of work, but outlining this plan now will save you time since you’re more likely to get re sults. On the other hand, going out on a whim and having no influencers respond will render any time you put in to your strategy useless.Write tasks down and work on the most importantAnother thing Patel points out is to write down tasks on a to-do list. This will keep you organized from start to finish to streamline each bigger project. To boost your productivity, start with the most important tasks first, and make sure your lists are realistic. Save For example, you might start out with a long task list for every tweak your blog needs. Break it down into chunks based on how much time you have to work on your blog and how much you can accomplish during each session. This way, your to-do list won’t seem so overwhelming. To keep your to-do list organized, consider working with a productivity app like Trello, which you can take with you on the go.Develop a routine that suits your lifestyleAccording to the Content Marketing Institute, 50 percent of content marketers (which includes bloggers) find it challenging to produce content consistently. While you should have a publication schedule, you should also be thinking realistically, and that will help you overcome this challenge and get into the swing of things to become more productive.Let’s say your only free time to work on your blog is on Saturdays. By no means should you expect to publish a new post every day, but instead, you could publish a new post once a week. But that’s not to say that publishing consistency is the only sort of consistency you should have. Monitoring comments and marketing are other tasks that need constant attention. It can all seem overwhelming at first, but the more you try to push it, the less productive you’ll be.That’s why you need to work with your blog in a way that suits your lifestyle. If you can’t respond to comments while at work, then get in the habit of checking and responding to comments after you get home. If you’re more of a morning person, handle your admini stration tasks when you wake up.Keep a running list of ideas handyOne thing that can cripple your productivity is writer’s block. There’s no worse way to spend your time than staring blankly at a computer screen and making zero progress. But you can beat writer’s block before it happens by keeping a running list of ideas handy wherever you go. Each time inspiration strikesâ€"no matter how silly it seems at the timeâ€"write it down. Save You might keep a list going on a notepad you keep next to your desk, or you can start a list on your smartphone. If you’re not already using it, consider downloading Evernote. You’ll be able to jot down ideas in text form, save inspirational pictures, or take and save screenshots so that the next time you’re short on blog post ideas, you already have a starting point. Or check out this blog post of 101 Blog Post Ideas.Create a post-publication checklistTo streamline your publication process, keep a checklist handy. That way, you don’t have to stress over what to do next.Your checklist will vary depending on your blogging habits, but just a couple of tasks to add to your checklist include:Sharing on social mediaAdding your blog post to your newsletterCommenting on other blogsSyndicating your contentSome of thisâ€"such as syndication and social media sharingâ€"can be automated, so consider that as a time-saving option.Install time-saving pluginsIf you’re using WordPress there are numerous WordPress plugins that will help reduce your time spent on administrative tasks. Akismet, for instance, automatically filters spam comments so you only spend time moderating those that matter. Here are a couple of other good time-saving plugins:Edit FlowEasily manage your editorial calendar from your WordPress dashboard. This is especially useful if you have multiple contributors.Rank MathThis plugin makes adding meta descriptions and tweaking other SEO settings super simple and quick.Check out some of my other choices of the bes t WordPress plugins when you get a chance.Make templatesA super easy way to shave off some time is to create your own templates, such as for text overlay on images. Save even more time by using templates already available through free programs like Stencil.Another trick is to develop a blog post template where all the formatting is already done for you. Save it in your dashboard and simply replace the text when you start a new post.Disconnect when you canAs Adam Clarke says on JeffBullas.com:“Distractions are probably the second most common cause of productivity problems when you are blogging. They are especially common as you will be sat on your laptop and you need to do some online research for your next post, but the location where you write can be distracting too if you’re not careful.”When you’re not working on Internet-based blogging tasksâ€"such as if you’re creating graphics or editing videosâ€"shut down the Internet to eliminate distractions. This tip isn’t just about disconnecting from the Internet as a whole, either. If you spend too much time on Facebook or checking your site stats, consider blocking just those sites while you’re working on your blog. Use Freedom to schedule times in which you block yourself out of websites of your choosing.Delegate or outsource tasksFinally, if you just can’t find the time to do it all, consider bringing on another team member or paying a freelancer or firm to help you with some of it. For example, if you don’t have any web design skills, you’ll save a ton of time hiring someone else to tweak your site because you won’t have to spend hours reading tutorials to learn how to do it all.You might start at a freelance marketplace like PeoplePerHour.com to outsource some of your blogging tasks, you could ask an experienced friend for help, or you can do a quick search on Google or Twitter for freelancers or businesses in the field.Blogging can take a lot of workâ€"there’s no denying thatâ€"but it doesn’t have to suck the life out of you! What tactics do you plan to use to boost your blogging productivity?

The Utopia Of Communism Why No Communist Country Has...

The Utopia of Communism: Why no Communist Country has been Successful After it was conceived from the mind of Karl Marx, a Communist form of government has appealed to many societies, especially before and during World War II. Some of the strongest countries were built on the principles of Communism, such as the USSR. It came to become an enemy of American values, and challenged the political and civil ideas of that time. However, it quickly dropped out of popularity, and has come to only being followed moderately by current communist states. 1 In theory, Communism is supposed to create a utopia, based on values of equality; however, political, economic, and civil limitations apply strongly to this form of government, leading to its decline throughout the world. Karl Marx defined Communism in his book, The Communist Manifesto, which lays out the complete framework for governing in this type of society. It begins by stating that history is a series of class struggles, then moves on to target the bourgeoisie, stating that they have been a force of change, but the changes coming to production are threatening them. 2 He believes that economic relations alone shape the world, not things such as religion and individual people. Then, he moves on to explain his view of the proletariat; they are slaves for property, which is controlled by the bourgeoisie. 3 The plan of communism is to make land into common property, in which there is no class character to it. Abu Sayyaf Terrorist Group free essay sample

The 11th of September will always be remembered in the history of the world. Not only because of the remarkable terrorist attack but because of the changes it has created in the world’s view of terrorism. Terrorism has long been related to bombing of public places or government buildings, kidnapping, and other acts of attacking innocent people. However, the notable 9/11 terrorist attack changed everything. It altered the meaning of terrorism in different contexts. The even also changed the world’s view of security. According to the US government, terrorism is â€Å"a means predominated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by sub national groups or clandestine agents† (About.com, 2008). Another accepted definition on terrorism is   câ€Å"the calculated use of violence or threats of violence to attain goals that are political, religious, or ideological in naturethrough intimidation, coercion, or instilling fear† (Chomsky and Otero, 2003, p.301). In all the definition constructed, it only denotes that terrorism is an act of killing while gravely threatening the innocent people. Around the world, there are various organized groups associated with carrying out terrorism. In the international community, the Al Qaeda is the well known terrorist that designed and executed the 9/11 terrorist attack. The Al Qaeda group was also declared as the notorious enemy of the world. However, aside from Al Qaeda, there are various organizations in different nations operating and employing acts that are causing strife to their government and to the people as well. The Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) is one of the branded enemies of the international world (Leifer, 2001, p. 48). The Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) is functioning in the Philippines and had been concluded to have link with the Al Qaeda terrorist group. Origin and objective of the Islamic Separatist Groups The geographic territory of the Philippines is composed mainly of three islands namely; Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao (Brunner, 1999, p.283). The main seat of the government of the Republic of the Philippines is situated in Luzon, particularly in its capital city Manila (Brunner, 1999, p.283). Majority of the Filipino people are Christians. Most Christians occupied Luzon and Visayas while most Muslims occupied the southern part of the country, Mindanao. The government of the Republic of the Philippines had been bothered by the Muslims group seeking for autonomy from the central government. The reason for autonomy was brought by the belief of the Muslims that the economic and humanitarian assistance afforded to them by the central government was not enough. In addition, they believed that the Muslims are given lesser priority in the political participation. For these reasons, Mindanao was never quieted from gun firings and cases of death because the government’s effort to pacify the place was not successful. War against the group and the government was prevalent in Mindanao until the 21st century. At present, Mindanao has been developed and more Christian people are living with Muslims. The group that instigated the separation of the Mindanao from the central government was the Moro national Liberation Front (MNLF) which was established and headed by Nur Misuari in 1971 (Liss). The fundamental objective of the group was the establishment of a separate Moro country. Such country would exist with a democratic form of government which is free and intolerable of being exploited and oppressed by outside force or influence. Minor objective includes the preservation of the culture of the Islamic and the indigenous people. The group was not as strong as expected because another group was formed out of MNLF. Due to internal misunderstanding, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) deviated from the group of Misuari (Liss). The MILF was headed by Hashim Salamat, an Islamic scholar (Liss). The objective of the MILF was to stress Islamic ideology in their effort to self- determination. However, the two groups employed arms in pursuing their causes that eventually led to several internal wars in Mindanao. The Creation of Abu Sayyaff (ASG) In 1990, another group separated from the MNLF which was named as Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) (Leifer, 2001, p.49). The ASG was founded by Abduragak Abubakar Janjalani with the aim of fighting the government is a more fundamentalist manner (Public Broadcasting Service, 2008). The group also demands that the seas of Sulu and Celebes be closed against foreign fishermen. In addition, the group objective is the inclusion of Islam in Philippine schools. According to record, Janjalani was trained as a mujahedin and previously studied in Libya and in Saudi Arabia (Public Broadcasting Service, 2008). In addition, he had been fighting against Soviet forces during their occupation in Afghanistan (Public Broadcasting Service, 2008). Notably, the name Abu Sayyaf is an Arabic word which means â€Å"Bearer of Sword† (Leifer, 2001, p.49). The group was able to survive through financial support from Mohammed Jamal Khalifa (Center on Foreign Relations, 2008). Khalifa is a businessman from Suadi Arabia and is the brother-in-law of Osama bin Laden. While the Abu Sayyaf was starting, the group was already recruiting Muslim members. Through Khalifa’s money, Islamic universities and charities were established (Center for Defense Information, 2008). The fundamental teachings were influenced by extremist’s doctrine. One of the known foundation of Khalifa and the Abu Sayyaf group is the International Islamic Relief Organization which is based in Zamboanga (Center for Defense Information, 2008). The underground trainings, guns, basic necessities were all supplied by Khalifa. Eventually the group grew bigger, recruiting even children and women who believed in the Abu Sayyaf’s ideology. Some of its members were a graduate from Mazar-e Sharif, a training ground in Afghanistan. When the group has accumulated strength, they began executing their plots which includes the assassination of the visiting Pope and blowing up airliners containing 12 US civilians (Center for Defense Information, 2008).

Synopsis - Essay Example If the fitness center is able to provide highly trained fitness staff, they will be able to charge higher fee. There is little or negligible impact of the size of the facility on the fee charged by the fitness center because customers experience higher satisfaction if other offerings such as fitness training staff are of higher quality. There is a major different in the designing of a particular service as compared to the designing of a particular product. There are even differences in the factors that need to be considered while designing services. First, service designers need to understand that service is intangible in nature so it should be designed while keeping those factors in mind that impacts the customer’s perception of the quality of a service. The customers’ perception of the quality of a particular service is dependent on the timeliness of the service provided. This means that the service should be available to the customers when they need it and any delays may make the customer perceive that the service is of low quality. Furthermore, the service designer should even take into consideration the physical setting in which the service is being provided. The safety, security and the overall environment of the setting is of utmost important in making the customer’s feel that the servic e is of high quality. This factor should be given importance when designing services that includes lower labor involvement. Another important factor is the service providing labor and the way through which they provide the service. This factor should be given importance when designing services that are labor intensive. The term mass customization is used to refer to the procedure of developing products and services based on the needs of individual customers but at the same time charging them prices that are set for

Branches of Philosophy Essay Example for Free

Branches of Philosophy Essay There are five types of branches in philosophy. These branches can be categories as Metaphysics, Epistemology, Ethics, Politics, and Estetics. The first branch of philosophy is Metaphysics, also known as the study of existence. Metaphysics act as a foundation in philosophy as well as the foundation of the view of our world. Metaphysics is very important to all of us as it help us to deal with reality by explaining and interpreting the world and nature around us. As you can see, without Metaphysics in our life, we will be unable to preserve our life as well as being ambiguous toward the information and knowledge around us, if this happen, we will have difficulty to live and comprehend the world. Therefore, Metaphysics is very important in our life. There are also some key elements of a rational metaphysics, one of the most important element would be reality. From a metaphysical side of view, reality must be understood perfectly and correctly because reality can be said as absolute and consistent. It has a specific nature independent of our thoughts or feelings. Besides reality, causality also play an important role in metaphysics. This is because everything happens for a reason and also an effect. Every entity has a specific nature and act according to that specific nature. Therefore, we can define that causality is means by which changes occurs, but the changes occurs depending on a specific nature. The next branch of philosophy is Epistemology, which is also known as the study of knowledge. This branch of philosophy is used to address the question â€Å"How do I know about it† as Epistemology is the study of our method or ways to acquired knowledge. It also relates our minds to reality by concerning how are they related to each other before determine whether these relationships are valid or invalid. Epistemology also encompasses the nature and construction of concepts. All mental things such as idea and emotion are also compasses by Epistemology. We need to have Epistemology in order to identify the true and false in our daily life and also the method or ways of evaluating certain things to acquired knowledge and experience toward the world around us. Epistemology is important because we will not be able to identify right from wrong as we are unable to think properly without Epistemology. On the other hand, we will be able to achieve our goal as well as acquired more understanding toward reality if we got enough degree of Epistemology. Flaws in epistemology will make it harder to accomplish anything. One of the key elements of a proper Epistemology is our own senses. Our five senses are valid and also are the only way we can gain information about the world around us. Besides that, logic help us to maintain consistency within our knowledge. Validity is determined by objectivity while concepts are abstraction of a certain details of reality. These are all the key elements for a rational Epistemology. Ethics, also known as the study of how a person acts in his daily life, is dependent on Epistemology because it is impossible to make choices without knowledge. From a fundamental point of view, ethics is a method or way to categorized and pursue our own values. Human needs Ethics to live. This is because without ethics, the whole world will become chaotic as all our action will be aimless and random as all of us are unable to decide a course of action. Ethics will not be able to completely help us to pursue our goal if rationality is ignored. We must all have a rational ethical standard at a certain degree which we are able to identify our goal clearly in order to accomplish our most important values. Every branches of philosophy have their own key element to achieve certain level of value. For ethics, it requires a standard of value to which all goals and actions can be compared to. The ultimate standard of value is none other but the value of our own lives. If a person is able to recognize his importance not only to his physical survival, but to his well-being and happiness, that certain person can be said to have a very good and proper ethics in his life. One of the subset of ethics will be the next branches of philosophy known as Politics. Politics can be defined as the study of how men should interact in a proper society and what constitute proper in life, in other words, it is the study of Force which answer the question ‘What action are permissible’. Politics can be applied to every single person or a group of people. A society is set up by Politics as politics tell how a person should act or behave within a certain society. Politics is very important in a society and even a country itself, this is because a political system in a society or country will greatly affect the individuals within that specific area. The people within that system are allowed to function or act according to the nature of the politics that is applied there. If the system is unable to work out, it will either collapse such as the Communist Russia or it will cause rebel such as in Czarist Russia. The main goal of Politics must be the faculty of reason. This is because reason is the main means of survival for a man as ones cannot survive in an ineffective environment. In a moral political system, coercion must be banned because reason does not function under it as man cannot be forced to think about what is right or wrong. Society cannot be forced to think, but, government plays an important role here as governments can objective laws and also monopoly retaliatory force to prevent one person from doing illegal things that might harm the society. The last branch of philosophy is also known as the study of arts and the sense of life which is called Esthetics. Esthetics also studies the methods of evaluating arts and also the judgment of arts itself. This branch of philosophy depends on the previous branches of philosophy which is Metaphysics, Epistemology, and ethics. It is important to study art because art existed through all of recorded human history. Human’s unique ways of thinking and evaluating makes art unique as well. A person ability to abstract the concept of art can determined the standard of one’s life as well as satisfying his personal intellectual needs. This is why Esthetics is very important as it delves into the reason why does art existed. The main key element of a proper Esthetics is none other than a person’s value judgment of the creator. With the field of ethics, these value judgments can be evaluated as well as observed because art is a selective recreation of reality.

Daucus carota - Origins and New Directions :: Botany

Daucus carota - Origins and New Directions Daucus carota (carrots) are one of the more commonly used vegetables in the western world. A member of the parsley family (Umbelliferae) which includes caraway, celery, dill, and parsnips, the history of the carrot is somewhat obscure. The potential for enhancing the nutritional value and consumption of carrots, however, may be very promising. Carrots are high in beta-carotene, an anti-oxidant carotenoid that is the carotenoid compound most readily converted to vitamin A when consumed by animals. Carrots likely originated in the near east and central Asia, from Afghanistan to northwest India, where they were probably cultivated for at least 3,000 years. Carrots may have originally become domesticated through the discarding of the propagating structures after the vegetative structures were consumed. The potential of the remains to continue growth is high. Therefore, it is possible that the disposal of these vegetable tops in garbage heaps may have allowed for colonization of the area and subsequent domestication (Rindos, 1984). Very early evidence of the consumption of carrots also has been found in prehistoric Swiss lake dwellings (Brothwell and Brothwell, 1969). The original wild-type carrots were thin, wiry, and varied in color from white to purple, but not the common orange that we see today. Wild-type carrots are also known as Queen Anne's Lace. The origin of the name is based upon an English legend. Supposedly, when the future Queen Anne arrived from Denmark to became the queen of King James I of England, wild carrot was still a novelty in the royal gardens. The legend states that Queen Anne challenged the ladies of the court to a contest to see who could produce a pattern of lace as lovely as the flower of the carrot. The ladies knew that no one could rival the queen's handiwork so it became a triumph for Anne (Haughton, 1978). Other common names for wild carrot are bird's-nest and devil's-plague. Mutations led to changes in the pigmentation. Both the purple and yellow-orange varieties migrated to the Mediterranean where they responded well to cultivation and selection (Brothwell and Brothwell, 1969). Carrots were recognized as one of the plants in the garden of the Egyptian king Merodach-Baladan in the eighth century B.C. The carrot's use was believed to to be limited during this time and throughout the rise of the Greek and Roman civilizations (Brothwell and Brothwell, 1969). Both the Greeks and the Romans were believed to have used carrots for medicinal purposes (Herfruit S.

Miss Julie: Examining the Nature of Pathos Essay

Miss Julie is an adaptation of August Strindberg’s play – directed and composed by Mike Figgis. Overall, the film remains faithful to the play. However, an indispensable distinction is the addition of a sex scene. After Julie and Jean hear her servants singing a lewd song, they copulate. Because Strindberg’s audience would have had different sensibilities, the act is merely hinted at in the original. For example, Julie says â€Å"there are no barriers between us now† (87) In the film however, the act is explicit, raw, and degrading. In Strindberg’s original, the act stems out of mutual lust, with Julie as the seductress. However, in the film, it is initiated by Jean, out of a desire to ascend social rankings and to see Julie toppled from her pedestal. Hence, the proper term for their act is not â€Å"love-making†, not â€Å"sex†, but – defilement. The net effect achieved by the sound effects, camera angles, and casting invokes pathos towards Julie. After the sex scene, the violin refrain is layered with complex chords in the minor key, conveying a poignant sentiment. Conversely, in the sex scene, the only soundtrack is the ambient noise- the feral panting audible. After the bawdy tune, the fiddling fades, replaced by a violin playing one sustained note in the minor key to augment tension. The music stops just as the camera zooms into Jean’s quarters and the split screen commences. With no music to buffer the debasement on the screen, the audience’s feelings of revulsion are amplified. The camera progresses from medium shots to close-ups of their faces, creating a voyeuristic effect. It trails from Julie’s boots, along her body, to her lips, conveying the intimacy of their union. However, Julie’s eyes are devoid of passion and her porcelain demeanour intermingled with childlike fragility and the sordid nature of the defilement is chilling. The split-screen illustrates the couple from different angles, one closing up on the faces, and the other focused on their bodies. The spasmodic cameras heighten the frenetic atmosphere. As they climax, the two screens close up to their faces and their two perspectives are made one, just as the act of sex unifies perceptions. Another deviation from the play is the difference between the couple in age, appearance, and height. In the play, Miss Julie is 25 and Jean is 30. (1) However, in the film, Jean appears in his fifties, sporting a balding dome and wrinkled forefront. To evoke indignity that Strindberg’s audience would have experienced from solely the status discrepancy, an older man was cast. Moreover, Julie is waifish, with a patrician demeanour and a childlike vulnerability whereas Jean is stout and aging. Jean’s unsightly appearance is an outward manifestation of his inferior status. The height difference symbolizes their class disparity. Before the act, Jean’s face is nestled in her neck. After, Julie is slumped back, literally looking up to him, revealing the power shift that has just taken place, inviting the audience to commiserate with her plight as she wrings her hands in remorse. Solutions to the Air Pollution Problem in America Essay

Solutions to the Air Pollution Problem in America It is steadily becoming harder to breathe these days. Every major city in the world is experiencing the ill effects of air pollution. The level of toxic air pollutants, known as toxics, has been on the rise globally, though not nationally, since the Clean Air Act of 1990, according to Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards [OAQPS], an office within the Environmental Protection Agency [EPA]. However, though more regions -- i.e., cities, metropolitan areas, rural areas, etc. -- are meeting the Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards, certain areas were and still are designated as nonattainment areas. Since the establishment of the Clean Air Act, Phoenix has had problems with particulates and has not had much success reaching national standards (USEPA--National Air 3). The problem continues to worsen because as the Phoenix population continues to g row, air pollution levels due to human activities increases (Maricopa County 3). The causes of air pollution are overpopulation, human activities such as the build up of industry and vehicle emissions; specifically diesel particulate emissions all of which produce harmful breathable particulates. These pollutants seriously affect human health. We do not just experience ill health affects from this pollution but we are dying from it as well. What we need to do is take steps to reduce the rate of increase of these pollutants in our air. If one does not have the energy or inclination to fight city hall, then at least one should do all they can from day to day to reduce their polluting habits such as following no burn day rules and try to use public transportation more.
